Finding comfortable maternity underwear can make a huge difference to your day. At The Mutha Project, we’ve designed knickers that are supportive, soft and feel like a second skin.
What makes our knickers so special?
Firstly, they were designed by “muthas” who considered the 5 key things every mum/mum-to-be needs: a soft waist band, no seams, premium fabric, breathability and elastic recovery. Let’s be honest, our knickers are going to go through it as much as we are!
Stretchy waistband
Our waistband is built to stretch and recover, so it will grow with your bump and support you after birth, recovering as you do.
Seamless finish
Made in one continuous piece, our seamless design prevents pressure points and marks. Say goodbye to uncomfortable seams that leave imprints by the end of the day.
Premium high performance fabric
We use high-performance soft warp knit fabric, made in Italy, with four-way stretch. This allows for flexible sizing and a perfect fit through every stage. As our fabric is able to stretch and recover, the means the elastic won't sag and recovers as you do.
Cooling open knit
Strategically placed open knit zones offer extra airflow- Let's be real, these are very sweaty times of our lives!
Mould to your body shape
The blend of yarns we use is found in performance wear- chosen for its ability to mould to your changing shape, whether you're pregnant, postpartum, or well into motherhood.
We have 3 styles of knickers in our collection: Our Bikini if you prefer under the bump, our High Waist if you like bump support and our Ultra High Waist which is a more supportive version which are great for post c-section.

Where will the waistband finish when I have had my baby?
We purposely designed our high waisted knickers to naturally come in at the highest point of your waist (a huge pet peeve of ours is a thick elastic waist band or the knickers that come in two inches below the waist). These will give you gentle support without any pressure as your body recovers.
Could I buy these just for postpartum?
Yes! Lets not pretend postpartum is a few weeks. You’ll be living in big pants for a little while- make them gorge comfy ones.
Is the gusset the same fabric?
Our gussets are made from bamboo jersey, which is naturally antibacterial.
